Woodward Simons - Book - Landscape Painting Principles

I've begun work on an instructional book - to be released in 2011. This book will feature numerous step by step demonstrations that depict the principles of painting that I've learned from my mentors, including Richard Schmid.



While my style is different from any of my mentors (I especially enjoy paintings of the 19th Century Luminists), the principles of light, shadow, drawing, color and edges applies to all representational painting. Style is an artist's own interpretation of these scientific principles, and style only comes with time, accumulation of knowledge with practice and experimentation.


No one has ever become an instant master artist in a day or even a year. My goal with my first published book is to help you get there faster.
