Loved your article--not this one, haven't read it yet--but the one posted later on making your workspace beautiful. (Perhaps more organization - like having blog current so I don't have to blog on a past blog, but rather the present article to blog on.)
Anyway, you are so right!--make your work space beautiful! I, too, got the smallest bedroom in the house (apt), but I sneak into the dining room with the wall of windows, to paint--much to the chagrin of my boyfriend. But, some things are more important than, well, his feelings.
